Xoom 026

On March 30, 2013, the third container for the South Sudan program arrived safely in Maridi, South Sudan.

This container, which provided more than $500,000 worth of medical supplies and equipment for Maridi County Hospital, was received with a town-wide celebration. Our local partner, the EPC, broadcast the arrival nationally on South Sudan TV. Since the start of the Doc2Doc South Sudan program in April 2012, we have successfully shipped more than $1.5 million of supplies and equipment to one of the most remote areas in Africa.

FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS

“I would like to pass my sincere heartfelt gratitude to Doc2Doc for sending us this container full of medical equipment to improve the lives of so many people dying in Maridi without any medical attention. I am happy to see all this equipment and medical supplies and we will immediately put it to use and we really appreciate Doc2Doc for this wonderful support.”

Dr John Sebit, Medical Director, Maridi Civil Hospital

“Today I am extremely excited to come and witness what we are witnessing now. This equipment as you have seen consist of very many expensive items. For instance monitors – the monitor we have seen today is only the second of such monitors in South Sudan. We have ventilators, refrigerators, beds, machines, beds for operation, and lights for the operation room and of course many other cartons of supplies that had been delivered. Many lives will be saved because of these machines and monitoring will be done, laboratory will be done better here and many other services. We have theatre items like gauze, masks and all kind of things and I am sure the Doctor will have no problems for the many years to come.”

H.E Dr. Yatta Lori Lugor, Deputy Minister of Health, Republic of South Sudan
